Thai Characters and Numbers
[The last renewal of this page: May 13, 2000]
1. Thai Numbers
Regular numbers are used widely, but they have their own numbers just the same as in Japanese.
2. Thai Characters (Consonants)
42 consonant characters are availabe. They normal build one comlete letter getting together with
certain Vowels as below. For your reference, similar pronunciations are shown in red letters.
3. Thai Characters (Vowels)
These characters are to consist one comlete letter getting together with above consonants. They
are to be put in front, after, above or below the consonants. As their pronunciations are very
unique, I did not put referenced alphabets for pronunciation.
4. Thai Accent Symbols
These symbols are put above the characters which are built with combination of consonants and
vowels.
@The grammer of Thai is relatively simple than English. As they have very few conjugations,
you can learn it incredibly easy in comparison with Latin lnguages. However, problems would
be even greater in undersatanding these hieroglyphical characters and complicated accents!
