The birds in Fiji which made me crazy

== Where else in the world you could find such a cute bird?! ==

[The last renewal of this page: October 20, 2013]

I had never interested in the bird watching until I came and stay in Fiji.
What happend with me is that while I was spending a life here, I came to get crazy about taking pictures of a cute and attractive bird, and I finally found myself that I was trying to make them learn to take food from me at the balcony of my house.
Now, they have learned to come to my balcony from the morning till evening, and ask me of feed them, twittering "Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! Cutz!". We can communicate anyhow now?!

The bird that made me crazy is called Bulbul. (Red Vented Bulbul)
When he has his hair stood on end, his hair style turns into a very fashionable "Regent" (Ducktail). So, in the beginning, as I did not their name. I used to call them as "Mr.Regent!"

This bird seem to be very full of curiosity, and they approach to a human if there is something to eat there, though they are cautious.
Singing in a very cute voice, tilting their head to the left and the rigtt, they stare at my eyes attentively.

What makes me the most exciting is their red hairs in thier hip. It is absolutely something like a part of a pretty red panty of ladies is visible, and get me so excited!
Where else in the world does such a fashionable bird exists?

It's really cute! I have no words to express how it's cute! I have a feeling that it would be nothing if one comes to Fiji and gets back to oen's home country without knowing this bird.
Most of the pictures that I took every day were taken form the balcony of my home, but there are hundreds of them and very difficult to choose soem from them!
I anyhow show you some of the pcitures that I picked up closing my eyes below. I hope you enjoy them.

A pair of Bulbul is often seen. Watching how they play around happily, I can feel their good cute character more.

A couple of parent and child came to the peels of pineapple which I left on the ground just in front of the balcony.
The young bird seems to have a difficulty to eat food by itself. The mother is pecking pineapples earnestly.
The young bird is waiting for food with cute eyes on the side.

The mother gave pineapple to the young bird. It is interesting to see the mother turns her head horizontally so that her bill does not bother the young bird.

They started to come to a guardrail of the balcony to eat chips of cracker being left on it.

They don't start to eat right away. They are well mannered enough to ask me "May I eat this?"?!

Their gesture is so cute.

Wow! Isn'that too big for you?

He is so hapy with papaya. Justl ike a fijian bird!

They have gotten used to me, and now they come even to the table in the balcony to get food.

Now, I let you see how he is cute actually in a movie.

Bulbul is full of curiosity! Full of charm!
Despite that they are wild birds, they have learned to come to the balcony, and ask me of food now.
Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! Cutz! They sing tilting their head to the right and the left, and must be trying to say "There is no food here!"
And they are staring at my eyes for some moment.

They now get used more, and they even come to the guradrail of the balcony to eat the food in spite of that I am stretching my feet ahead right below the gurad rail on the table.
So cute!

Well, no other birds can not follow to how cute the bulbul is, but
there is only one other bird that I found it very nice.
That is a small bird, yes, it is a small. It's smaller than a sparrow.
That is a Fiji Parotfinch.

Their strong point is its fresh color combination.
A combination of a bright green and a srong red!

Their movement is so quick, and it is hard to get them in a picture.
We can't see them so many, and all what I can see even if I am sitting in the balcony all day, we may find them once, and the dration will be less than a minute! BR>

They are always trying to find a food on the ground, but they have a protective coloring! It is so hard to find them.

It is small, so small.

This is a picture beeing zoom up. (trimmed)
Their face is not pretty, but its coloring make it full of attraction.

Well now, it is sorry to say for them, but I show you
the birds which are not cute
After knowing a bulbul, it makes me feeling of a strong dislike....

I think this is a kind of a feral pigeon, no matter how they are considered to be a symbol ofn a piece, after meeting with a bulbul, they are simply disagreeable! too big! not cute! and hope they flya away to somewhere!

No way, I can't like you.

This is the most unfavorit bird!
It is a Myna. I am sure that they are most popular bird in Fiji in its numbers.
Their eys are like a doll, and unpleasant!
A orange bill is unpleasant!
Why do they stretch their both legs ahead alternately like a human in a big step! Learn the cuteness of bulbul that makes jumping with both legs together to go ahead!

To make the matter worse, thier character is not good!
Despite that they are so cautious to a human, and never try to come close, onece the human is gone, they come into anywhere impudently.
While a cute bulbul is eating a food, they just come in and take the food by force. they are such bad birds!
I really hate them.

Honestly saying, I did not like to put their picures on the same page that bulbuls are on.....
