Facilities around October, 2000

Sky shop, a astronomical equipments shop in my neighbours had kept an old VIXEN's equatorials, which had been already quit its production, in their warehouse. They were sold at unbilievable cheap price despite they are absolutely brandnew. I purchased it, and put modifications so that it could work with the Skysensor2000PC, a computer control system for automatic guiding and automatic introduction. "Sensor type eqatorial", the name of the equatorial has ball bearings in its pillow blocks, and it has relatively long pillow bolck for the main polar shaft. The precison of gears used therein has that of one thousandth. As a result, it accepts heavy load and it has a very excellent tracking precision. With the Skysensor 2000PC, I could built a really reliable equatorial in comparison with the GPD equatorial, which I have been using till then, with a very very cheap cost.



Motors for Skysensor2000PC have been installed with modified plate for regular stepping motor. Shafts are coupled with special joint which have holes different size in each end. Motor covers are part of a plastic bottle which inner diameter happend to be the same as a diameter of the motor.


A black remote controller just below a large controller for the Skysensor2000PC, is for homebrew motor focuser.


No matching adaptor for the steel pillar is availabe anymore. I used a one for tripod which inner diameter is slightly larger than the daiameter of the pillar, and is fixed perfectly with a couple of bolts across the pillar. A plate to support telescope is a homebrew.


Long shaft for wieght is used to reduce the weight to 10Kg, so that it would give more margin to a powerful Sensor equatorial.




A homebrew motor controled focuser. A stepping motor for old eauatorial is used. This system is essential for remote controlled observation from the house.
