Project for modifying the Saturn Equatorial in April, 2000
An old heavy duty equatorial of VIXEN "Model Saturn" being kept in storehouse of local astronomy
shop is now in my hand having modification to be drive with the Skysensor2000PC, an automatic
introduction and guide system. If I make it, I'll get a system which I need to pay more than ten
thosand dollars with just paying 5 thousand dollars!
This equatorial can drive two telescops and CCD camera very easily. Even CELESTRON's C14 could be
OK!
The motors have been fixed temporarily for test.
So far, dirving test is OK! automatic guiding with ST-7 is also OK!
Comparison with GPD Equatrial which I have been using so far. Such a relaiable big one!!
The presicion of gears for Saturn Equatorial remains only 1%, and the feature had me gave up my mind
to use it after all. It is good for use observating the planets and the moon where the automatic
intruduction sysytem is not very essential, but my case is to observe unvisible galaxies to take CCD
pictures!
