Facilities in May, 1999

At last, I decided to have my own observatory Room. I'm not living in a strong wind area nor freezing area, then I chose Sliding Roof Type Observatory rather than a Dome Type, which doesn't need any roatating system nor produce any air turbulance. If I buy it it would cost me more than 1,000,000Yen (US$8,000.00), but I challanged to build it myself with a cost of 200,000Yen (US$1,600.00)! - Started work on 1999.4.4 / Semi-Completion on 1999.5.3 -

1. Base Observation System (with acutomatic intoduction /tracking system)
--> Newly purchased Telescope wisth the previous mounting & controller
-->Fixed on Observatory for taking digital pictures of Galaxies

Telescope : D9inch/f2,350/F10 Shumit Cassegrain Reflector (Celestron C9)
Mounting : Motor driven equatrial (Vixen GPD modified with special heavy duty motors)
Controller : Automatic intruduction/tracking sistem (Vixen Sky-sensor 2000PC)
Digital Photograph System with Automatic tracking system with high preision
: 390,000 pixcel CCD camera (SBIG ST7) (Self guiding system with separate CCD installed)
Automatic Filter Wheel (SBIG CFW-8)
Koheisha's Filters R:R60t2, G:G533t2, B:B440t2 UV & IR

2. Mobile Observations System
--> Previously used telescope with newly purchased VIXEN's SP equatrial mounting
-->Permanently set in a Van for taking analogue pictures of the Moon & Planets in out of town.

Telescope : D8inch/f1,800mm/F9 Cassegrain/Visac reflector (Vixen VC200L)
Mounting : Motor driven equatrial (Vixen SP)
Analogue Photograph System
: Rreflex camera body for astronomical pictures (Vixen VX1)

3. Portable Motordrive Eequatorial for Cameras
--> Newly purchased VIXEN'S SP equatorial (Only a portion of R.A.)
-->Handy portable use for taking analogue pictures of the stars.

Mounting : Motor driven(right ascension) equatrial
(R.A. portion of VIXEN SP Equatorial)

The telescope has been replaced to Celestron's C9. (9inch Shumit Cassegrain)

A Finderscope (2inch X7) with a lighting system for a cross gage is used.

The Cooled CCD has been replaced to SBIG's ST-7. For acolor pictures, a motor driven color filter wheel CW8 is also mounted.

A Light route selector system is mounted to swithch over easily between CCD use and observation with eyes.

With the software "Stella Navigator", astronomical objects are displayed on the right PC, and a click with a mouse control and move the telescope to the object automatically. With the left PC, a cooled CCD camera is controlled automatically. These operations are avalable from may room in my house by remote control as control cables are set between the room and this observatory.

A Video CCD camera for the Moon observation, and a TV for monitoring.

A new portable motordrive equatorial for cameras. (Special modification on VIXEN's SP equatorial at "Sky Shop" in Saitama)

The 8inch Visac Telescope is mounted on the VIXEN's SP equatorial which has been quit its manufacturing anymore, and is set to the Van always for mobile observation. I'm planning to build a Mobile Observatory in future.

Engine generator is also set for power supply.
