I had a chance to have a business trip to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Hong Kong from Sep.20,1998 to Sep.25. This is a report of the pictures on board during the trip. On the JAL Boeing 747-300, I had a chance to visit the cockpit.

Spread Flaps have been housed completely.


A beautiful island with a coral reef north of Okinawa Islands.


They accepted me to visit the Cockpit!








Captain Kazama at the right seat. (Special training for the co-pilot)


Instruments panel in front of the Flight Engineer.(On the right wall in the cockpit) Isn't that great the 747-400 which took this panel away?!


Instruments Panel at the pilot seat. They show the speed at almost the maximum and keeping a level flight.


Instruments for the four engines. Autopilot related instruments above show the altitude is set to 3,100feet. A slight difference of the position of four throttle levers gets me interested in.




Mr.Takahashi, Flight Engineer, talks to me many interesting stories, and I stayed in the cockpit for nearly half an hour! I was also happy with two bottle of wine and one can of beer of fligh-service.


Sep.22 Now, fly to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on Singapore Air, Boeing 777. SQ114 Depart at 17:00 Arrive at 17:55


The Maracca channel at the south of Singapore Island is occupied with a lot of boats going across.


The flap of Boeing777 is a single wing. Landing to the brandnew airport of Kuala Lumpur, which has opened a couple of weeks ago.


Sep.23, Fly to Hong Kong on Cathey Paciffic(Air-Bus A-340). CX722 Depart at 16:05 Arrive at 20:00




Landed on Hongkong Airport at night.

Sep.25, Fly to Narita on JAL Boeing747-400. JL732 Depart at 14:45 Arrive at 18:45(19:45 in Japan time)


Taxing started for Narita.
